Collection Preview: Monotypes Vol. 1
I set up a makeshift printmaking studio at the start of this year. It was enough to get by. A place for me to find familiarity in a once-fluent process. A moment to begin. I remarkably found this space to share some of the most impactful moments of my career thus far.
Currently Exploring: Monotypes
During the long and dark winter months, I shared that I finally experiment with something I’ve had on my mind for a long time - monoprints. You can read more about my story here. After spending my quiet, in-between hours bunkered in my newly established and very humble printmaking studio, I am building a collection of monoprints.
Collection Preview: Desert Grasses, Original Landscape Art for Your Home
In a few swift movements, my hand started capturing desert grasses. The motion felt natural. I felt a flow as I simultaneously captured what most see as a barren landscape.
Currently Exploring: Inside my art studio in Winter 2022
Inspiration isn’t something I often go searching for. When I slowly adapted my creative processes to reflect my inner landscapes and seasons, I learned inspiration would become a natural part of my creative practice. I would make space to welcome it upon its natural arrival.
The Intimate Side of My New Landscape Art Collection
I spent the beginning of this year with my creativity. It was bliss to reconnect with my pigments and fall into a friendly routine of discipline. Writing my new book, A Geology of Color gifted me so many beautiful things but I also deeply missed the familiarity of my artwork.
30 Drawing in 30 Days
For those of you who have been with me for a year or so know that I love to take on daily challenges at the beginning of each year. I enjoy finding discipline in my work and letting my practice set the tone for the remainder of the year. It brings me close to new ideas while practicing old and keeps my hands working consistently and steadily.
A Decade of Art
The end of this year will mark one decade as an artist. Over these last ten years I can confirm that I created a lot of work — some really great pieces, and some not so great pieces. Exploring my work taught me a lot about myself, those around me, and this planet, Earth.
Collection Preview—Earth Stories
For a long time now (at least 10 years) I’ve held on to a collection of vintage watercolor paper. It’s moved with me to every state I’ve lived in, finding its home in one of my many boxes.
Studio Reflection 07/19
For a few years I’ve frequently found myself in a new place. Moving isn’t a foreign concept to me, but every time I embark on a new journey it’s full of reflections and learnings. This week, I embarked on another move to my fourth state, Maryland.
Conscious Consumer—The Handmade Popup
I am thrilled to be a part of The Handmade Popup (HMPU) for the third season! This event is truly near and dear to my heart. It’s provided me the perfect platform to build community and support other makers, while also sharing a place for you to shop consciously and support small. This will also be your last chance to shop the remaining art pieces from my Spring painting collection. In an effort to inspire community, I’m sharing a small assortment of some of my favorite vendors featured this Spring season.
The 100 Day Project 03/26
I am three quarters of the way through my 100 day project (day 78/100!) and I am feeling bittersweet about my project to coming to an end.
Elizabeth Suzann x Lauren Sauder
I’m so excited to finally share that while I spend my days working through my 100 day project, I am letting my imagination run wild on a collaboration with Elizabeth Suzann! Since moving to Nashville two years ago, Elizabeth Suzann quickly caught my attention as a brand/fashion label working to bring quality over excess to their consumer. Always made with 100% natural materials, their clothing celebrates sustainability + simplicity, made for women who want their clothing pieces to live with them.
The 100 Day Project 02/20
I am almost halfway through my 100 day project (day 44/100!) and up to this point I have truly experienced some greatness.
